Getting Unstuck

Where are you? Where do you want to go? How are you going to get there? These are the questions a technical instructor asked to help trainees learn how to change directories using DOS (i.e., Disk Operating System). Post-DOS days, the technical instructor realized these questions apply to our everyday lives, and we believe these questions can help individuals get unstuck in their careers, relationships, or finances. If you feel stuck, click here and download our guide that can help you get unstuck.

Security

Security can be obtained from God’s everlasting arms. God is our best security system from past, present, and future sins. God is our security from life’s storms because He is our refuge. Security is dwelling and abiding in the presence of God. Security is knowing that God is our rock, our fortress, and deliverer in the time of trouble. Security is the confidence that God is always near, and He will never leave nor forsake us. Security is the Sovereignty of God because He has all things under His divine power and control. Security is in God’s omniscience because He knows all things. Security is in God’s word because it will not return to Him void. Eternal security is the belief and knowledge that salvation belongs to Jesus Christ.

The Plant, Water, and the Sun

Some plant leaves were drooping, withered, and turning brown. The leaves were in this condition because the plant had not been watered for over a week. When the plant was watered, rotated, and placed in an area to receive sunlight, it was restored to its original state. It’s amazing how nutrients like water and sunlight can revive neglected plants, and keep them healthly and alive. The sun, water, and plant are symbolic to: 1) mankind (the plant), 2) the Word of God (water), and 3) the Son of God (sun). Saved individuals can end up like droopy, withered, brown-edged leaves on plants if they neglect to daily feed their souls and spirits with the word of God, and stay in the presence of His Son. How many of you have family members or loved ones you believe need a relationship with the Lord, but you have given up because the more you talk or pray for your loved ones, the worse off they become? Or, how many of you no longer go around your family members since you’ve been saved? Do...

Wake Up America

Based on the violence that has spurred in America, one could conclude, America is heading towards a downward spiral. What's the underlying cause? Is race the culprit? Who or what has given life to an issue that was assumed dead? The underlying force contributing to the demise of America isn't physical, but spiritual. And if we're going to make America great, we have to learn how to fight in a realm that's spiritual. (Ephesians 6:10-13) According to John 10:10, the enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. What was stolen, killed, and destroyed during the recent weeks of violence and who's to blame? Believe it or not, it's the enemy and his mission is gaining footage. Luke 6:27-28 states, "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. Remember the motto, "United We Stand, divided we fall." The power to make America great is within all of u...

Things or Experience?

A survey from Eventbrite found that 78% of Generation Y respondents would rather spend money on an experience than a thing, and 77% say their best memories come from experiences. In addition, 72% of millennials shared they would like to increase their spending on experiences, and 69% say that their experiences make them feel more connected to their communities, other people, and the world. In 1998, B. Joseph Pine II and James H. Gilmore published an article - The Experience Economy . In this article, they state businesses must orchestrate memorable events for their customers, and that memory (i.e., experience) itself becomes the product. Savvy businesses use this model and charge for the value of their "experience" product because they know if they create experiences that are exciting and transcendent, they can build a community of fans that will rave about their 'experience.' Jesus Christ created a community of raving fans because He always gave people wha...

It's Time to Clean House

An elderly woman lost her life in a house fire because she hoarded stuff that didn't add value. Her neighbors recognized how hazardous her house had become and offered assistance to help her clean, to no prevail. Just as the elderly woman collected worthless items, there are many people who gather and hold onto people and things that deplete or bring detriment to their spiritual or emotional well-being. Worthless items like negative thinking, self-denial, stressful living, defeat, deceit, jealousy, fear, anger, covetousness, envy, anxiety, lack of self-control, hatred, low self-worth and self-esteem. When we pray and ask God for deliverance from our trials and tribulations, healing from a broken or wounded heart, or for a financial blessing, He can't deliver when our internal being is cluttered. For example, when a pilot attempts to land a plane, the pilot verifies if the pathway is clear. If it isn't, the pilot goes into a holding pattern. God is like the pilot! ...

I Weep for Sisters Looking

I weep for Sisters looking For a man that’s so hard to find My sisters try, they trip, they tremble Because the search goes on all the time. I weep for Sisters looking For security in masculine form They’re tossed and thrown by emotions Like a small ship in a big storm. I weep for Sisters looking For a “brother” whom they can respect Not a pretty boy or millionaire Just someone With whom They can connect. I weep for Sisters looking Because of the pain and heartbreak They endure The loneliness that turns to emptiness Will there ever be a cure? I say Yes, Dear Sisters, There is a cure A real cure from my point of view For perhaps wisdom is dictating That you pray and wait, Serve and work Until Mr. Right Finds You!
